H2O’s Fall Kickoff 2008

The atmosphere was electric as students kept making their way to Chisholm Auditorium.   As the students waited outside, the anticipation mounted.  Finally at 6:30 the doors were opened, giving the students an opportunity to enjoy the music videos, cartoons, and lots more fun stuff during the Meltdown.  Then at 7:00, it was time to crank it up.  Games, prizes, worship, interpretive movement, and prayer set the stage for an incredible Bible Study focused on Jeremiah 29:11.  Wow…what a night!  What does next week hold?  You’ll just have to be there to find out!

Here are a couple of pics from last night!

h2o Fall Schedule…

It’s hard to imagine that we are only days away from having everybody back on campus!  I hope each of you have had an amazing summer break…you’ve deserved it.  For you incoming freshmen…you’re in for the time of your lives…stay focused, or it can literally swallow you up.

We’ve added some great opportunities for you this year, to help you in your spiritual journey.  Our big weekly gathering will STILL be on Thursday’s at 7:00pm in Chisholm Auditorium.  And our Sunday Night gatherings with The River Church will STILL be at 6:00pm, also in Chisholm Auditorium.  We’ve got a lot of exciting changes in store.   So if your schedule allows, you really don’t want to miss a single week!  Our first h2o Worship Gathering of the semester will be our big kick-off bash on Thursday, August 28thThe River Church will be back on campus on Sunday night, August 31st.

Toward the end of last year, we started a co-ed Bible Study that met in the cafeteria on Sunday mornings at 10:00am.  This was really good for those students who remained on campus for the weekend, and gave them an opportunity for a small-group setting.  It was also cool that this Bible Study was over at 11:00am, just in time to be the first ones in line in the cafeteria for lunch!  This will be available for you again this year!  We’ll have our first Sunday Morning gathering on August 31st.

Here’s Some New Stuff:

We understand there are times when girls need to discuss things with ‘only girls’.  And the same goes for the guys.  Because of this, we’re offering you an opportunity to hang out with ‘the girls’ or ‘the guys’ and have a chance to be a little more open & honest, and to grow in your Spiritual Journey with Christ.  Our ‘Girls Only’ group will meet in The Chapel, located in Hayes, on Tuesday nights at 9:30pm.  Kaitlin Kalb will be the Group Leader.  Our ‘Guys Only’ group will meet in Franks Hall room 120, on Tuesday nights at 9:30pm.  Alex Boyd will be the Guys Group Leader.  Make sure you come in with an open mind & an open heart, because these are NOT going to be your traditional Bible Study groups!

  • Our regular Ice Cream Runs are coming back again this year…and we also want to make a few Taco Bell Runs too.  We’ll be doing these monthly runs on both Thursday nights and Sunday nights!
  • We’re planning a Luau in the Park, just a couple of weeks after classes begin.  You can find out more info on Thursdays & Sundays.
  • We have a Fall Retreat scheduled in October.  Our plans are to spend a weekend with other campus ministries across Ohio in a time of worship, reflection and fellowship.  You REALLY don’t want to miss this great opportunity.
  • We’re also looking at having an h2o Road Trip to Hallo Weekends at Cedar Point!  Whatdoya think?  Message me your thoughts!

You can find out more about each of these in the EVENTS section on our h2o FaceBook Group Page.

Prayer Walk 2008

Join us on Sunday afternoon, August 17th, as we partner with The River Church in Prayer Walk 2008.  We’ll meet in Gilmore Student Center at 4PM.  There we’ll form teams, and walk the campus, around the dorms, the houses, you name it, if it’s TU, we want to pray over it.  This year has the potential to be INCREDIBLE, and it will ONLY happen through PRAYER!  We want to ask God’s Blessings for the school year, for safety & protection, and that God will lead hundreds of students into a personal relationship with Him.

Afterwards, we’ll gather at the SCCA Building for a time of reflection & worship.  If you are on campus, or are in the TU area, we invite you to join us.  This is a GREAT WAY to kick off our Fall Semester!
